What a month it was! Laura and I both set personal bests for words written and words written in a single day. Our region had a banner year for winners, and a grand time at all the events put on by our awesome team. And we’re FULL of ideas for the new year! Thanks to those of you who sent us good wishes, and congrats to all the winners among you! And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, nanowrimo.org is the place to start. 😉
Ok, guys, awkward confession time. It seriously did not occur to either of us until I JUST NOW uploaded the comic that the storyline involving a bad guy toppling buildings is running TODAY. Honestly, the coincidence might have completely escaped my notice had I not been looking right at the date on today’s comic in conjunction with its dialog. I thought about just posting it as is and not saying anything unless someone mentioned it, then I figured that it would probably be better to address it and move on.
First, please believe that we did NOT plan this in any way, shape, or form. We did the layouts for this arc about six months ago, long before we had planned what to do for the 400 page celebration, let alone what dates the updates would fall on. Also, the comic is not related to terrorism, nor is it a commentary on any real-world politics.
We understand that this is a sensitive subject, and that there are some folks who might feel that posting this comic today is upsetting, or in poor taste. We hope that you accept our apologies: it was not our intention to make this difficult day any harder.
We do ask that the comments section be reserved for discussion on the comic. We welcome those who would like to have discussions on 9/11 or share stories to do so on the forum, where they’ll be easier to keep up with once this is no longer the front page. Keeping the light-hearted comic discussion and the more solemn topics separate will be a lot better for both topics, honestly.
On that note, hey, check out this villain! Pretty scary, huh?
