Well, at least he shut up finally. But I see now he has a few more tricks up his sleeve besides “deep freezing” people.

Val, NOW might be a good time to stop playing around and knock him the fuck out. As therapeutic as it might be to beat the crap out of him, he’s way too dangerous to play around with.

I agree. I guess we can stop expecting any of her colleagues to leap out of hiding holding a camera. This guy needs to be put on ice.

I’m not sure I get what’s happening in the last 3 panels. I get that Val is getting blasted back, but what is imparting that force?

  • skythorn on August 24, 2016 at 7:30 AM

I think Val is jumping back then jumping up as the sheet of ice gets frozen over the ground – I think it’s an angry ‘shock and awe’ approach that probably is not as smart as just doing a big old wall of icey freeze.

More a fighting dirty move he expected her to get caught in it ie underestimated her speed then go for the full body freeze

Should Val start making plans to find a new career???

  • Coriolis on August 24, 2016 at 2:02 PM

Why is her career in danger? This is the very situation the Agency expected, and prepared her for.

  • Black Rose on August 24, 2016 at 9:08 PM

Suppose Shiver had a plan of his own and Val gets charged with insubordination???
Unless the Hero Agency doesn’t use that charge?!?!

  • JasonAW3 on August 24, 2016 at 11:34 PM

Val’s pretty much just defending herself from a “hero” gone rogue. The Agency is aware of the issues he’s caused in the past, so what he’s doing now is simply digging the hole deeper and deeper.

About that graffiti, shouldn’t there be SOME allusions to the Watchmen, whereas the graffiti says “WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMEN”!?!?

  • Nightmask on August 25, 2016 at 9:02 AM

Shiver’s idea of a plan is deciding how he’s going to main or murder his latest victim due to his arrogance courtesy of having gotten away with it repeatedly before the idea he’d have a plan to get Val in trouble for insubordination isn’t even a possibility he just doesn’t think that way. As far as he was concerned Sidekick Girl was just another career sidekick and all sidekicks exist to serve their heroes without questioning them in any fashion, so he’s simply way outside his comfort zone for what he felt was reality with being stood up to by his sidekick and worse her actually treating him like the villain he is.

    HAH! Terrain control!

  • Alex Boston on August 26, 2016 at 12:34 AM

Wait, is Shiver ignorant of Val’s “unkillable” super-power? Because if so, Shiver thinks he wins if he kills the annoying sidekick who could gainsay whatever story he comes up with, and then gets the shock of his life when Val revives to testify against him.

  • Nightmask on August 26, 2016 at 9:26 AM

Hard to say, Shiver might have just skipped over the section on Sidekick Girl’s power or he might think that if he does enough damage with his power he might be able to overcome her regenerative abilities and kill her anyway. Not that he seem to spend any time thinking since even if he could kill her the fact she was killed by him (because there’s no way he could cover that up) when she’s a stellar record as a sidekick would make it quite clear that it was murder rather than justified.

SG’s acting a bit too smug and superior in this fight, it’s annoying me.

  • Skyler Ammons on August 31, 2016 at 4:27 AM

After several years of having to put up with idiots and psychopaths being considered “heroes” and having to put up with the BS of being a qualified hero but forced into the subservient “sidekick” role, and having to pretend to be a lesser person in comparison to jackasses like Shiver, I think she earned being a little smug.

She’s had to put up with the Hero Association’s crap for years, and she can now (legally) let out that frustration on a very deserving target.
