Puppy image doesn’t load for me either at the moment. As far as the comic, those sound like conflicting goals – if there’s time for the squatters to evacuate, there would also theoretically be time for the fire department to save the building. Of course, Mr. Nickel could just be lying about being able to do exactly as they ask.

They could do sweeps of squatters once a week or something then it’s not a sweep just before it burns down. Would still need justification for doing that though.

NNNope! Not buying him no longer caring about people!
Also, you can do an HOURLY sweep and that doesn’t guarantee someone didn’t walk in when you weren’t watching.

Because they haven’t done sweeps already, it’ll look really suspicious if they suddenly start sweeping the building–on regular basis or not–shortly before it suddenly burns down.
They’d have to do it for months before they get past the point anybody would make the connection and start investigating. And I get the impression the mayor isn’t waiting for months. Even weeks.
I think I fixed the picture. You all deserve this picture.

Puppy image confirmed (D’awww…)
With “view image” I notice it is now hosted on the same site as the comic, while before (and still for one on the “Moving Up IV” page) it was hosted on googleusercontent, so maybe changing file sharing permissions for it there would have also worked.
Maybe? I’m not a particularly technical person, so sometimes stuff just…doesn’t? But I deleted the image that I just copied into the post and uploaded it to the image library. Which I will just do from now on. Because puppy!

Oh look, a mayor that cares only for his own profit. This is my surprised face -_-
(PUPPY!!!! OMG SO CUTE!!!)

Your puppy is just adorable. (By the way, the picture on https://sidekickgirl.net/moving-up-iv/ didn’t load up either. You might want to do the same fix there.)
Isauro will figure out some way to both save the squatters and get the job done. He’s pretty savvy.

He is almost definitely going to have to let someone die in this storyline
Very cute pupper tho

OK easy was to disguise the use of accelerants, fake meth lab with supplies scattered around the building.

Doesn’t really make any sense that an individual wouldn’t sell a dilapitated building with squatters at massive overprice. Smells fishy, either it’s a legit home and therefore a test of loyalty, a front for something hard to move like a villain lair or a part of a bigger plot against someone involved…

It happens. Maybe 5 people all have a claim to it and are still arguing, a company could be too slow moving to figure it out and reply, or the owner sees the value and is holding out because they have the city by the figurative balls. Vould even be someone who bought the house just to block the stadium because they disagree with it, maybe they live accross from it. Something similar happened where I live – the City planned a project and started it before buying a property. It is an active business site and in a good location and so asking for “too much” or knowing the plot is invaluable was not so unreasonable, plus the poor planning to start construction before having things settled. The court of popular opinion ruled the city screwed themselves on that one and someone should be voted out.

My bet is on him calling an anonymous tip to Jasper, or making a mess of things trying to tip off Val.
Pouting.
