Sidekick Girl

Saving the City: Sans-Spandex

Sometimes crime DOES pay. That's kind of the problem.

and yet, THAT is the outfit she came up with for her scheme.

Everyone can just kind of ignore that extra shadow on the side there. I fixed the file and tried reuploading it three times, and it still puts the old picture there. I’ll fiddle with it later.

Missing an L is Special in the last panel.

Oh good god, I just realized – she could be ‘Suzy News’ from GrrlPower.com!! She got a taste of the ‘reporter high life’ with the ARCHON news event, but then never managed to catch another such break. So she turned to a life of crime!! 😀

So I wasn’t the only one thinking it- yeah, there’s a slight resemblance there, similar name and hair. And really, a similar (sardonic) take on the superhero genre in both comics.

Also, Illumina might have been a little creepy there, but I see a job opening for her.
She is GOING to be one of the first people at a breaking story anyway, may as well get some cheesecake and color commentary from her while she’s at it and get a paycheck in the deal…

Maybe it’s just me but has anyone considered the striperiffic outfit actually served to distract people from actually catching her physiognomy? Sidekick Girl herself caught on due to timing and the bit of fishnet peeking out, not her actual appearance.

it looks like this comic book universe’s version of Suzi showed up on the third page of the comic, dated may 13, 2007. that predates the grrl comic, doesn’t it? so sidekick girl did it first.

Does it really matter who’s on first?
I don’t think the post was ever intended to be a pissing contest about who did what first; I think Wyrm was pointing out that the two comics had a VERY unlikely and interesting congruency that could allow them to share a universe or have an amusing crossover at some future point. Wyrm then went so far as to make a conjecture or perhaps a suggestion of how the two comics could connect the timelines.
It’s wasn’t an accusation or some sort of snide attack, just an observation and a possible explanation.
