Saving the City: Sans-Spandex

We have decided to move to an every other week schedule from now until the end of the year. We’ve been struggling to get back to once a week on time comics with everything that’s been going on, between one or both of us on overtime, the season for our nonprofit ramping up, and general brain fatigue.  Because, you know, 2020.

There will be a comic this coming Wednesday (9/30) and then every other week after that, with filler during November as per usual.

This is all going so well for our young… friends. Why do I have the feeling that something BAD will happen?
Oh, right! It’s an action & humor webcomic.

Man, I got almost to the end of the page before I realized I was meant to be reading those dialogue balloons as a back-and-forth exchange. Having them in completely separate panels with no connection at all is misleading.

Might I suggest having the balloons overlap the center panel division from both sides, encouraging readers to read down the centre instead of one panel at a time like comics have trained us to do for almost a century?

Or maybe having a zig-zag border between the frames would have helped — that’s a common convention for opposite sides of a phone call.

Doing an archive reread, just have to say I love this line: “Gotta go. Don’t want her to think I’m being nefarious.”
