People who catch with their left hands don’t have to be left handed. They could just play baseball… You wear the mitt on the off-hand and learn to catch with the off-hand. I’m a lefty who played little league as a kid and I catch with my right hand.
Desks aren’t necessarily uncomfortable, but writing is likely to be messy as their hand drags over the graphite or ink and can smear it all over the page. That bit about scissors is spot on, however.
