Hope everybody is staying in, and staying safe.  It’s a good time for an archive binge!

Not sure which one is our favorite. Thoughts?

Not sure about favorites, but I have to say, the first one, art-wise, is exquisite. The shadowing and detail on the musculature makes it in my opinion one of your best works ever. It could use a tiny bit of work on the fingers, the belt buckle, and maybe the spikes on the bat, but other than that it’s really fantastic.

  2. Magical Mousegirl says:

I love the Magical Girl outfit, but it’s missing a sparklebat.

Have to agree, magical girl version is awesome/hilarious but needs Mr. Bat as a magic wand/scepter/whatever!

  3. Geeklet Child says:

I like cyberpunk Val, but she does need a shirt. Zombie Apocalypse Val doesn’t look that different from regular Val.

  4. Kaian says:

I like magical girl just for her response to it. But Zombie apocalypse and The Dark look the most functional for our daring darling of dangerous defiance.

  5. McClaw says:

“Young Adult dystopia character” looks to be the most practical outfit to me. The tube collar is a bit much, but the rest is at least reasonable.

  6. Twitch says:

magic girl is pretty cute, but if I was picking one to wear it would be dystopia. It would make the least embarrassing tanlines.

  7. kraziekat says:

I’d mix and match. I’m going with the general theme on cyberpunk, she needs a shirt, and the post Zombie Apocalypse shirt would go best, and allow you to show circuitry on on her belly! And with the dreadlocks! She looks awesome with dreadlocks.

Now, the funniest, just due to Val’s reaction, is Magical Girl Val.

  8. Mildweasel says:

Magic girl, but she has to keep her bat.

  9. syncline says:

Everyone knows Dark Val lives to beat the crap out of you; I certainly didn’t expect Dark Val to sweep me off my feet. Apparently old girlfriend issues have give me a newfound appreciation for grumpy sexiness.

Personal favorite is the gothy one, but this is payback for the “Healing Spinal Punch”, isn’t it?

  11. ZapTheSheep says:

How about Zombie Apocalypse Val’s outfit/body with Cyberpunk Val’s head.

  12. Dark Rose says:

Should’ve done Franco-Belgian Val or how would Val look rendered in the style of those French and Belgian comics, especially Tintin or Asterix(take your pick.)

    BTW-Val should’ve done the Sailor Moon pose… 😉

  13. Pibald says:

Hmmm… Maybe take the cyberpunk Val, then add the Dark Val jacket…

  14. The Wyrm Ouroboros says:

… Magical Girl Val should have a Hammerspace SuperBat.

Sheer style-wise, though, The Dark and Young Adult Dystopia Val for me. (Cyberpunk Val is a bit too Pink Mohawk for me.)

  15. MattoMatteo says:

Something betwen “young adult dystopia” and “cyberpunk”.

  16. Syncline says:

Wyrm Ouroboros is right: ” Hammerspace SuperBat ” needs to exist.
I fully support Magical Girl Val being in the SK continuity (over her own valid costume complaints and transformation cutscene) just to gain access to this wonderful device for OUR Val.
Mr Bat II had a good run, but real evil evolves, seeking ever greater atrocity.
Gotta upgrade to the improved vampire-killing quality of HS-SB.

  17. The Other Mike says:

Personally, I like the Zombie Apocalypse one. I love the touch of improvising a vambrace out of a newspaper.
    (Wish there’d been a steampunk one…)

  18. xero says:

No one sugest “sassy” val thatscwhat they call the borderline stripper haloween costumes now

  19. AusNado says:

How many times to I have to tell people, if you fight zombies the last thing you are going to want is bare skin?

P.S. I enjoy the magical girl one, pretty funny

  20. Trevor says:

At first I thought that newspaper was named “End Times”. Would’ve been funny. Also, Magical Girl Val’s angry face is adorable.

I can’t express just how happy this particular page made me, but explaining the random fits of giggling tomorrow is going to be a bit of a challenge. Best line ever in a webcomic came from Magical Girl Val.
