I’m pretty sure that NO ONE would actually look good with hair hacked off by a knife, so I think you’re ok. Those asymmetrical cuts can look pretty keen depending on hair texture and face shape, though.

I suspect it’s more like he figured that by taking over the temple and killing off her team, there would be no one to wake her up at all and he could get at her cryo tube thing. Which, really, is not super creative. Afterall, it was obvious enough that Dark!Val and the Light figured it would happen eventually and planned a failsafe to get a team through her back door.
