Sidekick Girl

Saving the City: Sans-Spandex

We have decided to move to an every other week schedule from now until the end of the year. We’ve been struggling to get back to once a week on time comics with everything that’s been going on, between one or both of us on overtime, the season for our nonprofit ramping up, and general brain fatigue.  Because, you know, 2020.

There will be a comic this coming Wednesday (9/30) and then every other week after that, with filler during November as per usual.

Nobody messes with nana

Introducing….

Abe Abernathy AKA Haze

Dax Stone AKA Impact

Jasmine Belmont AKA Tornado Girl
Mary Compton AKA Cyclone
Diana Deveroux  AKA Maelstrom
Chris Leary AKA Puzzle

I’ll post 8:1 odds Chris is still a man here in gender bent SG universe.

I’ll take that bet. Why would Chris be the ONE person who doesn’t switch? In Prime he is an androgynous looking man, so in the AU she would be an androgynous looking woman.

what makes you think Chris didn’t change zer power IS confusion after all

I am very happy with the direction this is going.

Jasmine is my fav. She looks just as cranky as Jasper.

What is between Maelstrom and Puzzle? Are we ever going to get an answer on that, in this universe or the main one?

Also love Jasmine, you literally never see women superheroes depicted with that build normally.

And should the two universes ever REALLY cross over, the two Chris’s will probably trade clothing and fuck with everyone’s heads even more than they already do. ^_^

    @Oniwasabi

I doubt it. Their costumes are identical. That being said, they will still confuse the Fk out of everyone irregardless of identical costume swaps.

I only started reading this comic strip yesterday. Since it began in 2007 I’m surprised that I caught up to the present day strip so quickly. However, I am also eager to see where this is going. I want to see if there is something between Drake and Chris. I mean, Drake was staring at Chris’s body and shortly after that he broke up with Mack. http://sidekickgirl.net/youthful-ward-i/

A gay superhero affair would work for me. Heck, I’ve been having fantasies about Mark and Isauro–anything to wash out the picture of Isauro with that nasty creature Esperanza.

Hey, if you want some Mark/Isauro action (trust me, we creators have thought of it), you should check out the sample pages from the Sketchbook in the store:

There is a second M/I picture in the Sketchbook as well.

I think that the one NOT pictured in the sample pages is the better of the two, partially since its a full page. And, of course, the freebie in the back can be anything.

As far as Chris and Drake, at the time of the comic you linked, yes, they were in a relationship. That was a long time ago, of course, and that relationship may or may not have changed in the interim.

I love how this Chris looks identical to the prime universe’s Chris.

  • Tilly the Hun on October 24, 2017 at 12:16 PM

Flargon, above me, said it best- I love that Chris hardly looks any different. I hope their backstories are the same- I love how sweet and un-jaded the Chris I know is. Feeling like an outcast in your own family is tough.
