Saving the City: Sans-Spandex

Comic!

Laura’s tablet is still on the fritz, but she was able to use another machine to get this done.

The discussion threads in the forum for GoT and Avengers are still up, if anyone wants to use them.

Hey, Other Val thinks Our Val will go in, eyes open for the Sudden Yet Inevitable Betrayel! I may have called it. Or both of us are wrong. ^_^

Also, looks like a typo in panel one: “I don’t onow if she has family…”

Other Val is beside herself with worry.

I wouldn’t trust Bandage Nose. By her own admission, she’s been involved in this sting for YEARS and hasn’t obtained her objective. That makes her at best incompetent or at worst lying, albeit with a really good story. Either way, Real Val shouldn’t get involved. Seriously, she’s supposed to do what BN and the other Vals couldn’t? That smacks of hubris.

It’s at this point that Val should notify her team about this woman, tell them everything she said and have them come up with a counterplan, one that doesn’t involve having Val go in by herself. She tried that already and wound up tangled in a metal twist tie.

Two of my favorite movies are based on real life events of undercover operations that lasted years and were considered complete successes. Donny Brasco was about the mob, and Stone Cold was about biker gangs. In both cases they were undercover in a small group that was associated with much larger organizations across the country. The fact that they stayed under while gathering info on other organizations wasn’t failure it was strategy.
