Saving the City: Sans-Spandex

And bleach. Beers and bleach.

Little does she realize that Isauro, a very tidy person, has been cringing with horror every time he has been over for weeks, and has fantasized, at length, about cleaning the disaster.

Looks like Hazel’s not the only one fast on the uptake, she just isn’t interested in being exploited for super-speed cleaning services anymore.

  • Xero on January 16, 2017 at 7:42 AM

You’d think in a world of supers speed cleanning could make you bank

  • T'Renn on January 11, 2017 at 6:29 AM

Or Hazel isn’t interested in being exploited so CHEAPLY. Most speedsters need fuel, and this is definitely a “three pizza problem,” at a minimum.

Ah the human side of Val. Gotta love it. And that all her friends know her so well.

…I’m guessing Mack did most of the cleaning. Or just living in proximity to another person suppressed Val’s more slob-like tendencies.

I’m surprised Isauro didn’t just start cleaning. That’s what I would do at my brother or ex-boyfriend’s place when they got that bad. BONUS: Seeing me do it would guilt them into helping.

I admit, that I’ll let the rest of the house get that bad, but I don’t understand how Val has three bags of trash by the trash can. One person doesn’t make that much trash (I make about one bad per week myself.) and it’s fairly easy to take the bag to the curb. Seriously, you just tie up the bag and when you leave the house on trash day throw it in you trash can and drop said can by the curb.

I seriously hope that tonight is trash night for Val, other wise she’s going to have a huge pile of trash bags to explain to Mack. All in all, what you can see isn’t too bad though, easily dealt with provided you can stay on task.

@Tenshi-sama, I mean no offense, but I would disagree. It would strongly depend on culture; we know some about Val (worked her way through community college) but maybe not what level of comfort she’s reached since. I have the blessed fortune that my sister arranges for a monthly cleaning service around my place, without which I might reach that level of squalor. Might. I don’t know if it’d get as bad as depicted… and I don’t know that it wouldn’t. *ahem* Anyway, Val needs to keep a man like that, by ring if feasible.

Also, welcome home, Illumina! I’m sure Metro City is looking forward to your Phoenix-like rebirth… err, return. Can’t wait to see what abilities you’ve discovered, and creative ways for Val to advance them further. :3

I got chills when i read that Mack was coming home. Thats great, I can’t wait to see what she can do now.

Looks like Val learned who she can REALLY depend on…!

  • John on January 13, 2017 at 12:54 AM

    I am so Val.

  • HakkyounoTenshi on January 14, 2017 at 7:02 AM

@Pastangum I’m sorry if I’m missing the obvious, but what part of my post was your comment directed to? I understand everyone comes at a thought from different angles, but I’m not sure what you’re responding to. Again, I’m sorry if I’m missing the obvious.

However, I absolutely agree that Val needs to keep Isauro (although with Isauro’s wonky green card status, would he even be allowed to marry?).

Yay! Mack is coming back. *does a little happy dance*
The apartment? Hilarious. Only it is improved by her conversations with her best friend and her boyfriend. 😀 I love them all.

@Tenshi, pardon me, I was referring to “seeing me do it would guilt them into helping”. Far too many people in my area would see someone doing it and, rather than be guilted, would say something along the lines of ‘get the trash too, and bring me back a gallon of milk while you’re at it’. I’m not offended, in fact I honestly hope I wasn’t being offensIVE in my response. My day-job tends to be stressful, especially this week, and my mental filters are getting overloaded.

    @Pastangum

You raise a good point. Not everyone would be guilted into helping and a lot would be jerks about it. I guess I’m just lucky in that the boys would help when I started cleaning.

And there was nothing offensive in either of your posts. You raised a valid point and in no way were you disrespectful about it. I’m sorry your job has been extremely stressful for you lately.

One small party could easily account for that many trash bags.

She needs to put a ring on Isauros finger,Hes a keeper!

If you know a lot about computers, friends and relatives will keep begging you to fix their tech problems. If you own a pickup truck, friends and relatives will keep asking you to help move stuff across town. So it stands to reason that, in a world with superpowers, having superspeed means everyone wants your help doing chores.
