Is Val either cracking the ice or giving him a bloody nose???

  • Kheldarson on June 8, 2016 at 7:15 AM

She’s trying to Crack the ice, but gave him a bloody nose. Probably broke it.

  • David Johnston on June 8, 2016 at 2:18 PM

Both. There’s a trickle of blood coming from his nose plus a lot of cracks. This indicates the ice is in contact with his nose but not skin tight all along his face.

I think it’s more a case that claw boy is starting to asphyxiate.

  • Chris on June 8, 2016 at 10:54 AM

Perhaps she should bring along a lighter or battery powered hair dryer from now on.

I am really disliking the Ice King right about now. 🙁

What’s the bet that Val takes the fall for this?

  • LeapYean on June 8, 2016 at 5:39 PM

I get the feeling that it is not a mater of not being wanting to thaw people out of the icy tomb the Ice-tool enjoys putting people in; I think it is more a mater of inability. He simply can not thaw the ice he makes. The fact that he acts loke a first rate A-hole is a way of covering his powers weaknes

  • David Johnston on June 9, 2016 at 12:00 AM

Killing people to avoid admitting he can’t thaw his ice seems to going a bit far. As is covering people’s faces. Avoiding that kind of carelessness is the justification for hero schools and licensing in the first place.

  • ReaderAt2046 on June 15, 2016 at 9:18 PM

Agreed. If he couldn’t thaw his own ice, then why didn’t he just leave the guy’s head uncovered? Encasing everything below the neck would incapacitate this guy just as effectively. Either he can melt his ice but is choosing not to, or he can’t melt his ice and chose to cover the suspect’s nose and mouth. Either way, he’s choosing to suffocate this guy (who, I remind you all, he never gave a chance to surrender. Hell, he hasn’t yet confirmed that claw-dude actually committed a crime in the first place!)

Mr. Iciclepop needs to get stuck himself sometime, I think.

(BTW, is your RSS Feed malformed? I can’t open the new comic correctly in Feedly.)

Looks like the kid’s eyes are rolling into the back of his head in that last panel…

  • Pastangum on June 10, 2016 at 7:40 PM

Eyes rolling back, a common sign of losing consciousness. (Good art! Notice his eyes are face-forward until that last panel.) Add to that the girl punching him in the face (through ice, but still), rips in her outfit from hitting that heavy ice so hard… yeah, can’t see anything other than Val getting some sort of fine or charge for beating him up. Her reputation doesn’t exactly help either. And her defense? She was trying to save Frozone from a homicide charge. 🙁 I’m with mr. Someone Else above, and I’ll add that _this_ is probably what breaks her patience with him, this event and the subsequent inquest.

You need to crack the front as well or he won’t be able to fill his lungs. Put your hand on hour stomach and chest and try to take a breath with out expanding one of them. This is how people who are digging holes die if it caves in. Even if the face is not covered.

  • LeapYean on June 11, 2016 at 4:15 PM

@ David Johnson. Because the super schools have come off as so compitent this far. If he just froze peoples hands and feet in school while looking good he would get a pass.

I think Val just knocked the poor icicle out… His eyes appear to be rolling back in his head…
