    Interesting

Does this mean Sidekick Girl is a real sidekick now?

I don’t think Illumina would steal the thunder. I really expect this to be a good tag team, beat up the bad guys kinda thing. I’m waiting for this arc with crossed fingers!

She looks tough…except for that boob window.

Agency has final aproval over uniform changes i bet they were affraid of too drastic a change

I like the new costume. It’s much more practical than her old one. I’m REALLY looking forward to the next comic. I want to see Mack in action.

That’s a Cleavage Top, not a Boob Window (see Power Girl comics for an example of a Boob Window).

If Dasien designed that costume,it would look like a leotard….!

Definitely liking the new outfit there, Lumina.

Very much looking forward to seeing her in action now

    Much better outfit!

A hero who can provide her own dramatic backlighting. Now that’s class.

  • Jordan on February 23, 2017 at 4:06 AM

In a way, the new costume is sexier than the old one (at least to me).

  • The Aussie Bloke on February 23, 2017 at 8:08 AM

Levitate them and give them a lesson in “Shaken Baby Syndrome”

  • T'Renn on February 23, 2017 at 4:23 PM

In addition to the backlighting, she can also now consciously direct her own “Dramatic Wind”. Even with her hair in a much more practical-looking ponytail, it’s more than long enough for proper drama.

Also adding my vote for the new costume. For one thing, just because it covers more, doesn’t mean it CONCEALS more. This design just reduces the (perceived) chance of a wardrobe malfunction.

So they still couldn’t give her four more inches of cloth over her cleavage? Would it be less Illumina if they showed less Illumina?

  • David Johnston on February 26, 2017 at 2:07 AM

Ain’t no they there. As a fully accredited superhero, Illumina gets to pick her own outfits within reason. She wants to show some cleavage while looking tougher than she used to. That her self-esteem isn’t entirely wrapped up in how decorative she is, now doesn’t change the fact that she’s backlighting herself and levitating her hair and boobs. She considers that part of “looking like a superhero”. And in her culture, she’s not wrong.

Digging the new costume. Still Illumina but proclaims that she has Taken a Level in Badass.
The line from the movie “They Live” (which I haven’t seen but know of) comes to mind: I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and I’m all out of bubblegum.

  • Zodo on February 24, 2017 at 12:51 AM

Illumina is looking FIERCE! So is Sidekick Girl waiting in the wings to step in?

  • Kit on February 24, 2017 at 3:40 AM

Ponytail, full-leg and -arm coverage, actual mask instead of a domino…

    Approved.

  • Sidekickgirl on February 24, 2017 at 3:23 PM

Just to be clear, the Agency does not choose Heroes’ costumes. They design their own, from such places as Measure of a Hero, which we saw in a previous arc.

Personally, I think the cleavage top is a nice demonstration of continuity of character. Just because she’s improved her powers and fighting skills doesn’t mean she doesn’t still enjoy showing some skin. As I recall, her favorite thing about the job in the old days was that she got to dress like that (since most of the rest of the job was over her head and she knew it). There’s no reason she shouldn’t have her cheesecake and eat it too…

Now that’s an outfit for rooftop chases!

  • MattoMatteo on February 27, 2017 at 6:18 AM

I approve the new costume… more professional. 😉

Very reminiscent of a past fanart contest winner! You’d have to be on the forum to see the original. Glad to see it (or a variant of it) is now canon.
