Saving the City: Sans-Spandex

No comic this week.  Erika’s dog has gone from getting diagnosed with giant tumor, to emergency surgery where we expected either lose her or have to put her down from cancer, to miraculously coming through and now maybe is going to be okay…in less than 48 hours.  I am physically and emotionally SPENT.

"How did you even get us a table here?"
"Don't worry, it was, like, 98% legal."

“Okay, sure, I threatened to chop up the owner into tiny little pieces to get us reservations, but I wouldn’t have really done it!”

It’s a miniaturized version of the attache case from Pulp Fiction – we will never find out what’s inside.

So, Is Val wearing the black arm bans with formal wear because the artists needed to give us a visual clue? Or is there a hidden backstory?

    • Sidekickgirl says:

They’re her tattoos. If she took them off, she would have red armbands instead, and that does not go with the dress.

    • Twitch says:

…I’ve been reading over five years and missed the fact they were tattoos.
There are no nice words to describe my shame.

  12. Katy says:

I was going to say brass knuckles too. Lol! Maybe a collapsible baton? Switchblades? Nunchucks?

  13. Robert McKinney says:

How did Val ever get tattoos? I thought her super power was imperviousness?

  14. Gene N says:

I thought diamond neckless and earrings that his current boss acquired and gave to him, and he thought she would like it.
