Hero dating is really hard. You can try to schedule around your shifts all you want, but when the superweapon is deployed, it doesn’t matter if you’re off the clock…
I kinda found this comic when this was the first page up, so totally thought that Isaura was the Sidekick Girl. I have since gone back into the archives and know she is not, but still for at least a couple seconds I was really confused
We did consider that new readers starting on this arc might be a little befuddled at first, but we didn’t want to clutter up all the pages with an explanation. We figure y’all won’t have too much trouble sussing it out.
I’m sure you guys have something great planned, but I really hope we get back to the real comic soon. I really didn’t have any burning desire to see the genderbent version of the comic. I was quite happy to find a comic with a strong, complex female protagonist. I’d like to get back to that.
I dunno. I think this foray is a great way of seeing how strongly Val’s character is written. ManVal is reacting and responding the same way RegVal would. That shows that Val is written as a person, not a specific sex. It’s neat to see.
I’m rereading the archives and never fully appreciated Isaura’s henchwoman outfit before. I suspect this is her “everyday” henching outfit and she’s had to wear a few unfortunate ones with some villains (like a chainmail bikini).
…you ladies love to tease the readers.
This is nothing compared to the teasing going on in the sketchbook we’re releasing this month. Awwww, yeah.
Isaura’s outfit is awesome. Many points for no boob window. Extra points for not having each boob outlined ala Catwoman.
Damn.
They’re both so pretty…
That last panel is classic-Val-pissed face. Love it.

Oops. Yeah this would be a confusing arc to start on.

Apparently Isaura/o is hot in every universe.
Is Val short for Valentine in this case?
Yep!
Of course in this universe Val’s friends didn’t give him any grief because the male hero seducing the female villain is traditional.
Not necessarily. Gender roles might be reversed in this dimension too……
Good point.

Cant wait till the sidekick girl Grrlpower crosover becomes thing
The forum thread thingie said that there were probably never going to be any crossovers, ever, soooo….I think you’re kinda stuck waiting there……..
Val looks a lot like Peter Parker from Ultimate Spider Man in several of these panels… Something you’re not telling us about your drawing methods?

Now, don’t forget, you are totally right to break her legs if she tries anything.
