Props to Illumina’s young fan, for looking at her eyes while talking to her.

The fear/shame of looking like a perv in front of his idol. Supposing he’s not gay that is, Ilumina is fabulous enough to be a gay diva/icon for certain.

As an aside, i vote for Isauro cosplaying Tornado Boy.

That teenage boy has a LOT more restraint that I had at that point in my life, with Illumina’s costume in the final panel.

    Fifteen bucks for Val’s autograph???

Hopefully there should be references and parodies here…

    I’d pay $15.

Also, the little girl dressed up as Illumina is adorable.

  • HeatherJean on July 26, 2017 at 11:38 PM

Are you sure it’s a girl?

  • Kraziekat on July 27, 2017 at 9:51 PM

Not really, but most boys are culturally pressured against pink, and with the pig tails, a girl is generally a safe bet.

    What? No autographs?

I would have thought Sidekick Girl would get more respect/fans. I mean, she is not just any sidekick, but the number one kickass sidekick. At least the criminals know enough to take her seriously.

Illumina is the media darling; indeed, under the Agencies it seems like that’s the very definition of “hero” as a category. You have to be model-pretty, photogenic, and larger than life. Actual heroics seems to have little to do with it.

Not too far off from a real-world society that calls those good at sports “heroes” and makes them millionaire celebrities.

There’s a big difference between what the media and the public know and what the people in the trade know.

The boy may be looking at her face, but I’m not sure about the girl behind him.

Oh, yeas, please. Isauro should come as Tornado Boy and bug him to get his photo with him.
Poor Val. She just doesn’t get any love. At least the superhero community knows that she is pretty awesome. She’s like their secret weapon.
I hope we see some Val costumes. Boys and girls would rock her outfit and she could sign their bats. 😀

I’m surprised Illumina isn’t selling souvenir flashlights.
