Yet Illumino is STILL less useless than Illumina. He’s figured out one of the most useful tricks from their power-set and actually tried to use it. It’s too bad that the bad guys in this universe are also more competent…

The goggles would have to be specially treated to withstand that powerful of a flash. Considering it would be much brighter than wielding sparks you can’t blame Illumino for trying.

(but considering Jane is actually competent, they should have expected it)
