    Real men wear pink! 🙂

    I recall a bard saying this…

  • Khlovia on September 5, 2016 at 6:05 AM

    I.e., Mr. Deegan.

  • Ragingagnostic on May 18, 2015 at 6:34 PM

Yes, they do. I took a picture of a man in a pink T-shirt that actually stated this!

  • Black Rose on March 18, 2015 at 4:33 PM

Is this going to be it or will there be more???

I wonder if rule 63 Sidekick Girl is still technically a sidekick or if he met the ridiculous standards of the Hero Agency and is simply a co-hero with rule 63 Illumina?

  • BloodPlum on March 18, 2015 at 8:16 PM

I think he was just not tall enough.

  • Skipper on March 19, 2015 at 1:27 AM

    This is beautiful.

Also the Fishnet Ninjas are so very pretty.

  • David Johnston on March 19, 2015 at 4:12 AM

There was that rift so I guess there will be more.

For some reason Val’s oufit while generic and unisex, for some reason doesn’t look right on a guy.

a Male Illumina Plays though not sure why

  • Kerlyssa on March 19, 2015 at 7:07 AM

Illumino’s costume is awfully skin covering, compared to Illumina’s. Fishnet ninja is adorable.

  • livvy on March 19, 2015 at 12:32 PM

It’s almost unfair right? Almost like there are differing standards for what kind of costume design is expected from a woman as opposed to a man in heroing. Makes you wonder if, without the obviously implied half naked costume expectations, Mack wouldn’t have chosen a full body suit as well. And it seems to apply to everyone. Hazel shows skin in her costume; Jasper does not. Hazel’s super tough and badass heroine shows stomach while Jasper’s male hero does not. Isauro and Maelstrom and even Chris are completely clothed. Val is wearing regular clothes but even she seems to have been unconsciously affected, as her top has no sleeves.

I absolutely just realized this and that’s amazing! If other opposite day people show up in this story, it’ll be interesting to see how much sink their costumes cover. That’s definately the kind of trope the creators would jump on.

  • livvy on March 19, 2015 at 12:33 PM

    Correction: skin

  • Black Rose on March 20, 2015 at 1:05 AM

How long will this story run?

  • Syncline on March 20, 2015 at 4:05 PM

‘Ms. Bat II’ totally made my day spotting that.

  • Raen on March 21, 2015 at 5:24 AM

And here I thought Sidekick Boy was the goth. No chance of them meeting, then?

  • Sidekickgirl on March 21, 2015 at 1:46 PM

    What goth?

  • Gin on March 22, 2015 at 8:41 AM

Weirdly enough, I think it’s the way the straps come toward his neck that make this version of SG’s outfit look off. Don’t most guys’ tanks go more straight over the shoulder?

And for some reason, the similarity between the haircuts here makes me giggle. A lot. I would have figured Val(Vick?) would have a really plain, short haircut or something more like Isuaro’s.

  • Maxilu on April 5, 2015 at 6:36 AM

Valerie is masculine in some parts of the world. Or SB could be Valentine or Valent or something and still be Val.

  • BloodPlum on March 22, 2015 at 11:46 PM

Okay I get why Illumina can’t fight, she’s a twig but shouldn’t someone as buff as this dude be able to throw a punch, or at least hold someone down? I mean, look at the muscle, good lord. If we were just going heroic build he could of been lith and stuff and just like maybe swimmer muscle but he’s built like a body builder.

  • Airyu on March 23, 2015 at 2:19 PM

He probably has the body type of a body builder who only does it for show. Show muscles are pretty weak. Weightlifters on the other hand would be built more like Jasper.

  • David Johnston on March 24, 2015 at 7:19 PM

He probably could hit decently hard by regular person standards. While those kind of muscles aren’t optimized to generate the most force per pound, they aren’t totally useless. But if he has Illumina’s personality, then he’s not going to connect versus martial arts villains like fishnet ninjas, he’s not going to be able to hurt people with actual damage resistance, and even against common thugs, his reluctance to take and deal out actual damage is going to leave Sidekick Boy carrying the can. His forte will still be, “Being an impressive-looking distraction.”

  • Henry on March 28, 2015 at 6:10 PM

    Ms. Bat II. Nice.

  • Lukkai on February 4, 2016 at 12:08 AM

Maleumina is really pulling off that look in pink. Gotta say that.

  • Freak on March 6, 2016 at 4:10 PM

Am I the only person who saw that and thought of Maebara Keiichi (Higurashi)?

  • Skraeling on September 28, 2017 at 12:25 AM

Illumino is… more than somewhat terrifying in this strip. Well done.

  • Tilly the Hun on October 24, 2017 at 12:12 PM

    So much beefcake
